The Julian Alps, the most eastern extension of the Alpine Range, stretching from North-East Italy into Slovenia through Triglav National Park are mysterious and perfect for hiking experiences in unspoiled nature.
In winter, it is even more mysterious to hike through the snow land of our mighty Julian Alps.
You will be accompanied by licensed and highly experienced guides, ensuring you a safe experience.
Our tour will start in the alpine pearl of Kranjska Gora, Ski World Cup center, continuing towards the world-famous Ski Fly area – Planica and Tamar.
You will walk through deep snow with the help of snowshoes.
The special time you will spend in the forest of Pokljuka, hundred years old trees will tell you a winter fairytale in silence.
Our highly experienced guides, UIAA, and UIMLA certified will assure you will have a very pleasant and adventurous winter trip through the Julian Alps. No doubt, they will tell you many interesting facts about the area and legends from there.

ITINEARY
Welcome in Kranjska Gora
Meeting - Instruction
We will meet in a pleasant spot at Kranjska Gora. After accommodation, a briefing meeting with all instructions for the upcoming days will follow.
Day 1
Distance: 5 km

Snow-shoeing in Tamar
Starting a winter hiking day in the ski world cup center of Kranjska Gora, take a hot coffee on a cold but sunny morning. Continue with a public bus to the valley of Tamar. The first stop is at the world’s largest sky flying area – Planica. Shortly after you will enter the silent area of Tamar. Have you ever tasted this winter experience? You will try snowshoeing in deep snow, safe and sound with our experienced guides.
Day 2
Distance: 11 km
Elevation: 1400 m +/-
Moderate-hard
Vršič pass in winter
Start the morning filled with the emotions of the previous day, you will try today a real winter escape in true mountains, you will hike a Vršič pass and spend a day surrounded by majestic mountains around Vršič.
Day 3
Distance: 13 km

Mysterious Pokljuka forests
Our winter hiking tour will encircle and come to the top end in the winter forest of Pokljuka. You can visit a nordic ski running areas and challenge your skills balancing on the ski running skies. Wandering in the silent hundred years old forest in Pokljuka with the view on Mt.Triglav will give you a special feeling of old memories, hidden deep inside every one of us. Relaxed and awakened you will return to urban society with precious experiences.
