Julian Alps grand circle

We will meet in a pleasant spot in Kranjska Gora. After accommodation, a briefing meeting with all instructions for the upcoming week will follow.

After breakfast, we will pack our back and start our unforgettable journey in the Julian Alps paradise. First WOW will be in Planica at the ski jump center, one of the biggest ski jump areas in the world. Path will lead us to Tamar, admiring the magnificent Mount Jalovec. Shortly after, steep uphill will take us to the highest road mountain pass – Vršič.

After breakfast, we will pack our backs and descend to the Trenta valley, the historical valley of emerald river Soča. You can take a coffee at the spring of this famous river. Visiting mysterious Zadnjica will definitely leave you breathtaking for a moment, shortly after you will need breath to climb on “mulatjera” path towards upper Prehodavci, Plato around Mt Triglav and his vassals. In the afternoon we will enter the Triglav lakes valley and take accommodation at a mountain hut at the lakes.

Day 3 is the day of the trip. The whole day will be wandering in the mountain pastures around Mt.Triglav, and Bohinj lake forests.

We will see Mt Triglav from different sides and admire his beauty. The day will be concluded at the very western part of the Triglav – Dolič hut. If wanted, we can organize a Triglav climb (accompanied by proper gear and guide).

This day we will see Triglav from the best, north side, where he shows us the most powerful statue. From Dolič Hut we will descend all the way to the valley Vrata. At Aljaž hut, we will have lunch with the majestic view on the north face of Triglav.

The day will conclude in Mojstrana in the village under the Triglav.

Day five will be dedicated to enjoying the deserved success of encircling the Julian Alps’ grand circle. From Mojstrana to Kranjska Gora we will pass the mysterious village of Gozd Martuljek and shortly after finishing at lake Jasna in Kranjska Gora. If it’s warm enough, you can jump into the fresh lake and enjoy your deserved day.
