Nanos – Mowing and Hay harvesting; folk custom

We will meet in a pleasant spot in Ajdovščina. A briefing meeting with all instructions for the upcoming two days will follow.

Hike to Nanos. At the sight of mowing we sharp scythe and prepare it for mowing. After we mow, we have to hay harvest it all in one big pile. Due to hard-working, we will have a well deserved lunch from a basket. You will try only local made food and wine, all prepared in old tradition way. As it was old folk custom, we will also take an easy nap under the trees to rest for a bit. 

Next thing that we will learn is cutting the trees using old saw. From the food we will make ourself a shelter where we will spend the night in. Also we will make a fireplace where we will cook dinner.

The next day we will explore Nanos with E-bikes. We will also descent into a ice cave, from where in the past, ice was transported to Trieste port.
